Boilerplate
Rovee is a navigation app for European motorhomes and campervans that routes with the rig in mind — height, weight, length, turning radius. It keeps the whole trip in one place: route, tolls, vignettes, low-emission zones, and overnight stops. Built for CarPlay from day one. Not bolted on. Not paywalled. Public launch: 7 July 2026.
Short variant (≤280 chars): Rovee is rig-aware navigation for European motorhomes: routes around your size, with tolls and restrictions surfaced before you drive. CarPlay-native, beta on iPhone. Launches 7 July 2026 — price-locked founding tier €17.99/yr × 1,000 spots.
Three taglines
- Routes that fit. Routes built around your rig, never around someone else's car.
- Costs made clear. Tolls, vignettes, and the trip total, known before you leave.
- Rules ahead. Restrictions and zones spotted while you can still re-route.
Founding-member offer
€17.99 / year for the first 1,000 founders. Your rate holds while you stay subscribed.
Standard pricing thereafter: €29.99 / year.
CarPlay included. No subscription bait-and-switch. Ever.
Note for editors: the founding offer is a price lock on a recurring subscription, not a lifetime payment. Please don't use "lifetime" framing — it conflates Rovee with the 2021 Sygic episode that tanked competitor trust across this category.
Fact sheet
- App name: Rovee (App Store: Rovee — RV & Motorhome Routing)
- Category: Navigation app for European motorhomes and campervans
- Platforms: iOS first (CarPlay native); Android post-launch
- Coverage: 28 European countries at launch (all 27 EU members + Switzerland); UK adds post-launch
- Vehicle envelope: Heights up to 4.0 m, widths up to 2.5 m, lengths up to 12 m, weights up to 7.5 T
- Pricing: €17.99/year for first 1,000 founding members (price-locked while subscribed); €29.99/year standard thereafter
- Beta status: Closed iPhone beta, invite-only
- Public launch: Tuesday 7 July 2026
- Team: Built in Tallinn and Lisbon by people who own old motorhomes
- Differentiator: The 3-beat — rig-aware (height / length / weight), cost-aware (tolls / vignettes / LEZ fines), rule-aware (restricted zones). No single competitor solves all three in one app.
- Competitive wedge: CarPlay-native from day one — uncontested vs Sygic (paywalled), CoPilot (clunky), Gabary (not shipped). The 3-beat is the killer feature; CarPlay is how it lands on the dash.
Story angles
Listicle: "Best motorhome navigation apps 2026"
The motorhome sat-nav apps in your roundup each handle part of the trip — a router here, a parking directory there, a tolls calculator elsewhere. Rovee fuses the three things motorhome drivers actually need in one app: rig-aware routing (height / length / weight), pre-trip cost (tolls + vignettes + LEZ fines surfaced before driving), and live restriction alerts while there's still time to re-route. CarPlay-native from day one is how it lands on the dash — but the 3-beat fusion is the differentiator. Sygic put CarPlay behind a paid Premium bundle (~€55–€100 depending on region and promo; lost trust with the 2021 lifetime→subscription bait-and-switch). CoPilot's CarPlay is clunky. Gabary has been promising CarPlay "soon" for two years.
Feature piece: "How an indie app is fixing the motorhome routing problem"
Two phrases dominate every motorhome navigation thread on MotorhomeFun, wildcamping.co.uk, and r/UKMotorhoming: "I nearly took my roof off" and "nothing good exists for CarPlay." Rovee is built around those two complaints: rig-aware routing (height, width, weight, turning radius), vignette + LEZ cost surfaced before you leave, offline trip packs, no CarPlay paywall.
Niche piece: "A different way to fund a motorhome app"
Most European motorhome apps default to either €0 with ads or €80+ recurring with feature gates. Rovee's price-locked recurring subscription for the first 1,000 members is a third option, written explicitly to avoid the bait-and-switch playbook. The framing matters: it's a price lock on a recurring subscription, not a lifetime payment. The mechanic matters: 1,000 spots create scarcity without dishonest scarcity.
Screenshots & assets
Brand screenshots (iPhone CarPlay, route with restriction overlay, founding-member pricing card) are available on request — email press@rovee.io and we'll send a Dropbox link with PNGs sized for print and web. Also available: app logo (SVG, light + dark), brand colours, and screen-recorded video clips of CarPlay navigation.
Coverage notes
A few things that help editors get the details right:
- "Built for CarPlay" — not "CarPlay compatible." Rovee was designed CarPlay-first; the iPhone app is the companion, not the other way around.
- "Rig-aware routing" — preferred over "dimension-aware" or "vehicle-profile-aware." Plain English wins.
- "Founding members" — preferred over "early adopters" or "first users." Carries the price-lock meaning.
- No "lifetime" — please. The founding rate is a price lock on a recurring subscription. Locked while subscribed.
- Brand attribution only — please attribute to "Rovee" or "the Rovee team." We don't surface a founder name on rovee.io.
